The trust on which this practice is built is not contractual, it is professional. The NDA that follows formalises what is already understood from the first conversation.
A formal Non-Disclosure Agreement is executed before any substantive discussion of content, scope, or the principal's identity, without exception. This applies to every enquiry that proceeds beyond initial contact, regardless of mandate size or nature.
The NDA is mutual. It binds both parties and covers the full scope of the engagement, from initial conversation through to delivery and beyond.
Under the governing NDA, the following are protected absolutely:
No client is identified in any context, marketing, portfolio, or otherwise without explicit written consent. No work product is referenced without permission. No engagement is discussed, alluded to, or implied in any public communication without the principal's prior approval.
Private memoir, family legacy, and other private narrative mandates are subject to the most stringent confidentiality provisions of any work undertaken here. The NDA governing these engagements is comprehensive and permanent, it does not expire at the end of the engagement or at any subsequent date.
All interview recordings, notes, and working drafts produced during private legacy engagements are returned to the principal or securely destroyed upon delivery of the final manuscript. Nothing is retained.
All proprietary client materials, documents, data, recordings, correspondence, are used solely for the purpose of the engagement for which they were provided. They are never shared with third parties. They are never retained beyond the engagement period unless explicitly agreed otherwise by the principal.
Upon final delivery and settlement of fees, all client materials are returned or securely destroyed per the NDA provisions. A confirmation of destruction is provided on request.
The intellectual property in all delivered work vests absolutely in the principal upon delivery and settlement of fees. SKR Editorial Services retains no rights, interests, or claims in any delivered work product. This is not negotiable and applies without exception.
