Privacy notice.

Last updated: April 2026

SKR Editorial Services (referred to throughout as "the practice", "we", or "our") respects the privacy of every visitor to this website and every person who corresponds with the practice. This notice explains what information is collected, how it is used, and the rights available to you in relation to that information.

Who we are

SKR Editorial Services is an editorial consultancy founded and operated by Sudhir Kumar Rao, with principal operating locations in Mumbai, India and Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The practice is the data controller for information collected through this website and through direct correspondence. The contact point for all privacy matters is skr@skreditorial.com.

Information we collect

We collect information that you provide to us voluntarily through the enquiry form on the contact page, through the newsletter subscription field, and through email or other direct correspondence. The information may include your name, organisation, country, email address, and any description of the matter you share with us during a qualifying conversation.

We use privacy-respecting analytics on this website, which record aggregate information about page visits, referring sources, and approximate country of visit. The analytics do not use cookies, do not track individual users across sessions, and do not build advertising profiles. Your IP address is not stored.

How we use the information

Information you provide is used solely to respond to your enquiry, to progress an engagement you have commissioned, or to deliver correspondence you have specifically requested. It is not used for any other purpose. It is not shared with third parties for marketing. It is not sold under any circumstances.

Newsletter subscribers receive occasional correspondence on the craft of institutional writing, between four and six times a year. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every newsletter, or by writing to us directly at the email above.

Confidentiality of engagement material

Material shared with us in the course of an engagement, whether under a formal non-disclosure agreement or not, is treated as confidential from the first exchange. This applies equally to qualifying conversations before any engagement letter is executed. Material shared with us in confidence is held on encrypted infrastructure, is never transmitted through unsecured channels, and is not discussed with any third party outside the engagement team.

How long we retain information

Enquiry information is retained for up to twenty-four months after the last contact, after which it is securely deleted unless an active engagement requires its continued retention. Newsletter subscriber information is retained until you unsubscribe. Engagement materials are retained for the period specified in the governing engagement letter, and thereafter handled in accordance with that letter.

Your rights

You are entitled to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to ask for it to be corrected if it is inaccurate, and to ask for it to be deleted where we do not have an overriding reason to retain it. Requests can be sent to skr@skreditorial.com and are acknowledged within seven working days.

For visitors from the European Union and the United Kingdom

If you are accessing this website from the European Union, the United Kingdom, or any jurisdiction where the General Data Protection Regulation or an equivalent regime applies, the rights set out in that regime are recognised in full. These include the right of access, the right to rectification, the right to erasure, the right to restriction of processing, the right to data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For GDPR purposes, the lawful basis for processing your information is either your consent (in the case of newsletter subscription and optional enquiry details) or the legitimate interest of responding to a professional enquiry you have initiated.

For visitors from India

In addition to the general protections set out above, we observe the requirements of Indian data protection law as in force from time to time, including the provisions of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and its implementing rules.

Changes to this notice

This notice is reviewed periodically. Material changes will be announced on this page, and where the change affects ongoing correspondence, subscribers and active clients will be informed directly.
